NHS Glasgow Royal Infirmary has contracted Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) through its constituent company HCS Water Treatment Ltd for specialist water treatment services.

The Glasgow Royal Infirmary is a large teaching hospital. With a capacity of around 1,000 beds, the hospital campus covers an area of around 8 hectares, and straddles the Townhead and Dennistoun districts on the north-eastern fringe of the city centre of Glasgow

It originally opened in 1794, and the present main building dates from 1914. In 1856, Joseph Lister became an assistant surgeon at the Infirmary and a professor of surgery in 1860. In 1875, a student of Lister, William Macewen joined the Infirmary surgery as an assistant surgeon. He became a full surgeon in 1877. While at the Infirmary he introduced the practice of doctors wearing sterilisable white coats. He also pioneered operations on the brain for tumours, abscesses and trauma.

PTSG is a premium provider of Legionella control and management of water systems. Its team delivers services for customers in all industry sectors.

PTSG Water Treatment Ltd is one of PTSG’s five independent business divisions. The other four are PTSG Access & Safety Ltd, PTSG Electrical Services Ltd, PTSG Building Access Specialists Ltd and PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd.
