Working at the highest level

The built environment of the UK is vast and varied, with commercial, industrial and residential buildings – some historic and others state-of-the-art – creating a unique landscape in every town and city. As a result, it has become imperative that the preservation of these buildings is meticulously handled by building access specialists.

An increasing number of city buildings soar high into the sky, creating their own access challenges for regular cleaning and maintenance. Regardless of the size of the structure, each has its own agenda, users and challenges. Building Access Specialists is the home of building access solutions for every structure in the built environment.

Our specialists are qualified and equipped to carry out the full spectrum of building repair, maintenance and cleaning work for customers in all industry sectors. From being the first company to carry our structural repairs to the iconic Grade I listed Blackpool Tower to devising a unique technique for accessing the underside of roofs to protect structures such as sports stadia, aircraft hangars and industrial warehouses, no challenge is too great for our highly trained team.

An insight into some of our services

Knowing the ropes

PTSG has extensive experience in delivering a wide spectrum of specialist services at height. In situations where working at height cannot be avoided, our highly qualified teams always take the necessary steps to prevent falls or, where risk cannot be eliminated, to minimise the distance and consequences of a fall by using the right type of equipment. This may involve different kinds of collective protection or fall protection – see Access & Safety for more details on our services.

IRATA International’s rope access system is a safe method of working at height where ropes and associated equipment are used to gain access to and from the work position, and to be supported there.

Our technicians are IRATA-trained. IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) is recognised as the world’s leading authority on industrial rope access. It is the association that provides the skills and knowledge required to work at height where ropes and associated equipment are used to gain access to and from the work position, and to be supported there.

We use industrial rope equipment to service buildings and structures of all kinds, built in different eras for hugely diverse functions. Due to the unobtrusive nature of industrial rope access, certain buildings, such as shopping centres, can remain operational during works. The visual integrity of historic buildings is also largely unaltered during rope access works.

Our large team of steeplejack engineers cover the four corners of the UK. They design and install unique access systems to suit clients, each of whom has its own distinctive building(s). This may be a modern skyscraper, but it may also be a church steeple or an industrial chimney stack.
