Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist Access & Safety services at Wimbledon All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
Based in Church Road in Wimbledon, the All England Club is the venue for the only tennis grand slam event played on grass. Founded in 1868 at the height of the croquet craze in England, it didn’t stage its first tennis championship until 1875.
The current Centre Court dates from 1922; it has been improved and extended several times, including in 2009 when a sliding roof was added. The club currently has 18 tournament grass courts, eight American clay courts, two acrylic courts and six indoor courts. There are also 22 Aorangi Park grass courts, which serve as competitors’ practice courts before and during The Championships.
In this contract, engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd will be installing a bespoke colour-coated walkway to allow safe access to the roof lights in order for maintenance to be carried out.
PTSG is one of the industry’s leading suppliers of specialist safety equipment and services for the construction and FM sectors. The original business division of the Group, founded in 2007, PTSG Access & Safety Ltd was formed through the acquisition of some of the most experienced and accomplished service providers in the country. The Group now has offices throughout the UK and can be mobilised to attend all projects nationwide to deliver the full spectrum of access and safety services.
