In 2014, we launched MOUSE (Memorable, Outstanding, Unique, Service Experience), a unique customer service-driven initiative. Each month, MOUSE speaks to someone in our team about their life inside and outside of work.
This month we speak to John Berry, 48, Sales Director at PTSG’s Building Access Specialists, Acescott Specialist Services Ltd, who tells us what makes him tick.
At work
I joined PTSG six months ago as Sales Director of our Business Access Specialist, As a business we focus on three key streams of work. High level cleaning, remedial repairs and specialist internal cleaning of new high end residential developments.
The HLC stream is our largest side of the business, we have regular contracted cleans some of which we have been undertaken for many years and then we receive requests to complete one off specialist cleans. My previous experience has come from the Remedial and Commercial sector and I believe this side of the business is the biggest opportunity as we look to expand and complete more pointing, mastic work, glazing replacement and roofing work to recertification of abseil points.
I enjoy my role because every day is different and represents and a new challenge, whether that is how to access a specific building to complete works, deploying an emergency team to fix lights for a VIP trip or deploying a large team to get a building cleaned by a certain deadline.
At home
I am a rugby player and under-16s coach with Ongar rugby club. I also compete in off-road driving events and have been doing so for 10 years. I enjoy the adrenaline rush.
