Part of: Electrical Testing
Fixed wire or periodic testing protects buildings and employees from the two main electrical risks – fire and electrical shock. Over a period of time, these risks increase as installations deteriorate and it is in the best interests of you and your employees – and also your insurance company – that you have an installation that is not only electrically sound but also free from the risk of fire.
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 state that an electrical installation should be designed, installed, operated and maintained in a safe manner at all times. As a general approach, PTSG suggests the following approach:
Electrical Network Drawings
Undertake electrical network drawings to identify and label the detail of your LV system in order to comply with Regulation 12 (ABSOLUTE) of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (methods of identifying circuits).
100% Inspection & Testing as far as reasonably practicable (ASFARP)
We carry out a thorough visual inspection of the installation and test the entire installation from supply through to final circuits where reasonably practicable, taking in to account any critical demands of the business and the environment while complying with the requirements of BS 7671 18th edition and Guidance Note 3.
Corrective action on dangerous electrical non-compliances
We can provide solutions for rectification of any defects found within an electrical installation to bring it to a fully satisfactory and compliant condition.
Additional Services
Additional services such as network drawings can be provided on request.
Flexible Working
We will provide a programme of works where necessary to include flexible working hours and minimise disruption and business risk. This can be bespoke to the client and be spread over a number of years, depending on the type of installation while still ensuring compliance it satisfied.
