Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist Access & Safety works at North Bromsgrove High School in Worcestershire.

This 13-18 high school has over 1,000 students on its roll and it serves as part of the Shires Multi-Academy Trust. The school, which specialises in performing arts, was designed by Nicholas Har Architects (NHA) for the Worcestershire Schools PFI programme with BAM.

The main accommodation is arranged in an H-form which incorporates a teaching building retained from the existing school. At its centre is a three-storey entrance hall which unites the various elements of the school and opens directly to the main school hall so that the two together offer opportunities for varied performances and events.

In this contract, engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd will carry out remedial repairs to fall protection systems in place at North Bromsgrove High School. These systems allow safe access to the roof and façade of the building in order to carry out maintenance or cleaning works.

Fall protection systems enable operatives to safely access all areas of every kind of building to carry out their work maintenance and cleaning work. PTSG’s testing and inspection and subsequent maintenance work ensures fall protection equipment remains in first-class operational condition. Systems are subject to year-round weathering, which is why testing and inspection is carried out at suitable intervals. Any imperfections that have developed can then be dealt with so that system can be certified as safe.
