Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), via constituent company Neo Property Services (Neo), has been contracted to deliver specialist surveys to over 400 fire doors of a busy London hotel situated on Park Lane, overlooking Hyde Park.

The customer is one of the best known and respected hotel brands across the globe, founded over a hundred years ago. The Park Lane hotel is over 100 metres (328 feet) tall, has 28 storeys and 453 rooms including 56 suites. It was the first skyscraper hotel to be built in London, containing more than 500 bedrooms and six restaurants.

As hotels often operate around the clock with little opportunity for downtime, inspections must be carefully planned to avoid disrupting the guest experience. Balancing the hotel’s operational demands with the legal and safety requirements of fire door inspections requires meticulous coordination.

Fire door inspections can involve opening and closing doors, using tools, and creating temporary noise, all of which could disturb guests in nearby rooms. This necessitates a professional approach from the inspection team, including clear communication with hotel staff and ensuring work areas are kept clean and organised. In some cases, work may need to be scheduled during off-peak hours or carried out incrementally over several days to avoid undue disruption.

By working collaboratively and adopting a sensitive, guest-focused approach, Neo’s team of engineers will look forward to completing the essential safety checks while upholding the hotel’s reputation for service excellence. Neo offers a complete portfolio of passive fire services to safeguard thousands of properties and residents across the UK.
