Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been awarded a contract to provide specialist electrical services at a new CT scanning facility at Cheltenham General Hospital.
Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd are installing a surge protection system for the new CT (computed tomography) scanning facility within the hospital. CT scans can produce detailed images of many structures inside the body, including the internal organs, blood vessels and bones. They can be used to: diagnose conditions – including damage to bones, injuries to internal organs, problems with blood flow, stroke, and cancer.
A surge protection device is designed to protect electrical installations or devices such as computers and TV’s from voltage spikes. The surge protection device (SPD) attempts to keep a low voltage supplied to an electrical device by either blocking or shorting to ground any unwanted voltages above a safe standard.
In addition to providing surge protection, PTSG designs, installs, test and maintains lightning protection systems and specialist earthing solutions. This enables the group to take a bespoke approach for each client, giving them a unique solution to suit their premises.
