Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to provide specialist electrical services at the University of Essex.
Established by a royal charter in 1965, the University of Essex is one of the original glass plate universities. Essex Business School opened in 2015, the UK’s first zero-carbon business school building symbolic to the promotion of sustainable and ethical business practices, housing a winter garden giving the building its own micro-climate and a rainwater pond recycling water to cool the building.
In 2018, a STEM Centre opened to conglomerate the university’s science departments and The Copse student accommodation opened offering 643 new single ensuite rooms and studios. In 2019, the Innovation Centre, Knowledge Gateway opened offering space for more than 50 start-up technology businesses.
Engineers form PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will be installing a new lightning protection system to protect all users of the university’s campus in the event of an electrical storm.
