Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist electrical services for Mars Wrigley at its base in Plymouth.

Mars Wrigley produces some of the globe’s favourites sweets, with names including Skittles, Mars bars, Galaxy, Starburst, Snickers, Milky Way, Airwaves, Extra, and Orbit. 90% of chewing gum consumed by the British is made by Wrigley.

The Estover-based factory sits on a 45-acre site which is close to Plymbridge Woods and also Dartmoor. It was once the UK headquarters and factory for the original family-owned Wrigley company before it became a subsidiary of the manufacturing powerhouse, Mars in 2008.

During the next week, engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will be carrying out repairs to the lightning protection system at the factory. These repairs follow a recent test and inspection to the system.

PTSG is the UK’s leading provider of lightning protection services. Its engineers, which are based throughout the UK, design and install bespoke or standard systems, as well as delivering test and inspections and maintenance and repair programmes, ensuring buildings remain protected and compliant with the latest regulations.
