Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is delivering specialist electrical works at a major gas terminal in Barrow-in-Furness for Spirit Energy.
Spirit Energy was launched in 2017, following the merger of Centrica’s exploration and production business with Bayerngas Norge AS. The company has around 800 employees UK-wide of which 150 are based in Barrow, Cumbria, on the Irish Sea coast. The gas industry is currently facing challenges brought about by low gas and oil prices worldwide.
Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd are currently carrying out remedial repairs to the lightning protection system in place at the gas terminal. PTSG previously conducted a test and inspection which highlighted the repairs that were needed to keep it operationally efficient to protect users of the terminal in the event of an electrical storm. PTSG’s engineers attended the site in Cumbria earlier in 2020 to carry out electrical testing and inspections.
