Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is delighted to have won the Investment Award at the Yorkshire Business Masters Awards 2021.
The Yorkshire Business Masters “Class of 2021” was announced at a glittering ceremony at the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds on Thursday 14th October. PTSG beat off stiff competition from Production Park, SevenHills Fabrication and Specialist Glass Products to win the prestigious award.
PTSG has always invested heavily in new businesses that add real value to the Group’s offering, furthering its share of the market sectors in which it operates, as well as extending its geographical reach. PTSG has made 32 acquisitions in its history, growing from a handful of people offering fall arrest products and services to a group with five business divisions, over 1,700 industry specialists, 41 centres of operation and over 20,000 customers.
Twin investment milestones for the Group occurred in 2019, when the board of Bidco and the independent directors of PTSG reached an agreement on the terms of the acquisition of PTSG by Bidco, a newly incorporated company established on behalf of Macquarie Principal Finance Pty Ltd. The subsequent deal for £323 million was the biggest in the sector that year; and in 2021, when PTSG brokered another deal which saw leading global growth investor Warburg Pincus acquire a joint majority stake in PTSG with Macquarie Group.
PTSG has also invested heavily in professional development, giving its people the best opportunity to develop their skills, training and qualifications within the Group. As an Approved Training Centre (ATO) for the CITB, delivering good-quality training that meets the industry-approved standards, PTSG is helping to ensure a certain quality of workmanship throughout the industry; and quality means safety, which is of paramount importance in the safety-critical sectors in which PTSG works.
Paul Teasdale, Chief Executive of PTSG, commented on the award: “There’s no better way for our hard work to be recognised than this prestigious award via the British Masters Awards. We have always pursued an ambitious growth strategy, carefully selecting companies that help us to achieve our vision of being the go-to provider of specialist services to the construction and FM sectors. This award is a wonderful reward for all our hard work as a Group and I am truly grateful.”
Ben Ormsby, Yorkshire editor at TheBusinessDesk.com said: “It’s been a fantastic evening celebrating the successes of Yorkshire’s business community, particularly after the challenges of the last 18 months.
“Myself and this year’s independent judging panel were really impressed by the quality of entries and in particular the commitment by businesses across the region to champion sustainability in every sector. Against the uncertain backdrop of the pandemic, it has been fantastic to see true Yorkshire grit on display alongside a real sense of community, with businesses from all sectors supporting each other in these unprecedented times.”
