Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) has been commissioned to provide specialist electrical services at a major residential building in South London
Rundell Tower is a 22-storey tower block – part of the Mursell Estate in Lambeth. The 64m tall building was approved in 1963 and completed in 1967. It contains 82 flats.
Tall buildings are often targets for lightning strikes, which are extremely high-current discharges of electricity. Lightning can occur between or within highly charged clouds or from a cloud to earth. These discharges can range from about 10 million to 100 million volts. In England thunderstorms are more likely in the East Midlands and South East areas.
Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will install a brand-new lightning protection system to protect Rundell Tower from future lightning strikes.
