Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is to provide specialist electrical services at a new residential development in south-east London.
The development, located in Renforth Street, is six storey high and comprises 50 residential units, 13 x private, 25 x social rented flats and 12 x intermediate flats with the following mix: 20 x 1 bed, 10 x 2 bed, 20 x 3 beds and associated external works.
Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd have been contracted to deliver a new lightning protection system at the development. This will safeguard the centre and its users in the event of an electrical storm.
Contrary to popular belief, hot weather and thunderstorms do not automatically go hand in hand. Analysis of the Oxford data shows that particular weather conditions such as “Spanish plume events” – south-easterlies bringing warm air from the Iberian plateau – are better predictors of thundery days for southern England, and that possibly the reduction in thunderstorms in the last decade is associated with a reduced frequency of these kind of weather patterns.
