Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been awarded a contract to supply domestic Legionella risk assessments and associated remedial works across the housing stock of Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP).

The partnership manages nearly 12,500 affordable rental and shared ownership homes. Alongside housing, it offers a range of support services to people and communities across the east coast of Lincolnshire.

The purpose of an assessment is to assess the risk of Legionella bacterial growth resulting from the operation of the water systems at any premises, as required by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (amended), and as specified by the current Health and Safety Executive Approved Code of Practice L8 and associated technical guidance, HSG 274.

An assessment in principle follows the guidelines set out in British Standard BS8580-1:2019 and would normally include an executive summary for the overall management of Legionella, a description of water services, a clear and concise recommendations section, basic schematic diagrams of the systems and plant, an asset register, photographic evidence of inspection findings, full inspections of the associated plant, temperature profiling and a management review including an inspection of available records.
