Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to provide specialist electrical services at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club in Wimbledon.

It is best known, of course, as the venue for the Wimbledon Championships, the only Grand Slam tennis tournament still held on grass. The private members’ club has 375 full members, about 100 temporary playing members, and a number of honorary members, including past Wimbledon singles champions and people who have rendered distinguished service to the game.

The club was founded in 1868 at the height of a croquet craze. The current Centre Court dates from 1922. It has been improved and extended on several occasions. Most recently a sliding roof was added in time for the 2009 Championships.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will be installing a new lightning protection system at a new two-storey media pavilion, which is being constructed at the club. The pavilion will provide an interview suite and will also have a roof terrace connecting into the existing broadcast centre.

PTSG is the leading provider of lightning protection services in the UK. It works across a wide range of industry sectors at some high-profile and prestigious sites. It is delighted to be part of this exciting project at the historic All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club.
