Premier Technical Services Group PLC’s (PTSG) Building Access Specialists division has secured a contract to carry out high-levels repairs on site at WSP Textiles Ltd. in Stroud.

WSP Textiles Ltd, which is part of the Peltzer and Fils Group and owner of Iwan Simonis and Saluc of Belgium, is the only company in the world that is dedicated exclusively to manufacturing worsted cloth for billiard tables. Iwan Simonis was founded in Verviers, Belgium, on the banks of the river Vesdre in 1680 and the factory in Verviers is still producing cloth for billiard tables today.

The Group’s skilled steeplejacks attended the site to carry out high-level repairs to two steel chimneys. Ladders were applied to both chimneys in preparation for the works. The chimneys were wire-greased, cleaned and painted. Engineers visited the site on two separate occasions to ensure that at least one chimney was in operation at all times.

From external windshield inspections to internal relining works, PTSG can provide bespoke solutions to any problem that may develop in large steel chimneys. In addition to steeplejack methods and rope access, the Group’s specialists routinely use building maintenance units, mobile elevating work platforms and ladders to complete work safely and effectively.
