Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist electrical services specifically lightning protection at the new studios in Birmingham.

Construction started late last year on site in Birmingham’s Digbeth district at MasterChef’s new studio. This marks the first step in the wider vision to transform the Warwick Bar area into a new creative quarter for the city.

Under approved plans, Digbeth Loc. Limited are converting the abandoned Grade II listed warehouse at Fazeley Street by the Grand Union Canal into a studio and filming area. Homes England owns the land. The sensitive designs by Digbeth-based architecture practice BG Projects include a new modern extension. The new design will reflect the original design of the historic warehouse, used for shipping in the 1800s.

In this contract, engineers form PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will install AA lightning protection system for the sudios in Birmingham. The system will provide protection for the structure and all users in the event of an electrical storm.

PTSG is the UK’s leading provider of lightning protection services. Many believe it to be the oldest trading company in this area. Since 1835, JW Gray, now part of PTSG since 2015, has been associating itself with lightning protection. It is a founder member of the Association of Technical Lightning and Access Specialists (ATLAS). It is also a member of the Steeplejack and Lightning Protection Training Group (SLPTG).
