Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is delighted to announce it is a finalist in the Wellbeing category of the IWFM Impact Awards 2022.
PTSG’s approach to safety is influential in the industry and has led to ten consecutive Golds from RoSPA, arguably the most rigorous judge of health and safety in the world. The submission for the Wellbeing award focused on the Group’s approach to mental health and how it proactively gives its workforce of +2,300 people access to trained mental health first aiders whenever it is needed.
As Group HSE Director Terry Wilcock explained:
“We have a responsibility towards our colleagues; an increase in the discussion of mental health will, in time, reduce the inequalities experienced by those people who have mental health issues.”
This approach has seen a huge take-up in people approaching PTSG’s own mental health experts to talk about the issues they are having. As a result, there has been a significant fall-off in staff absence and sickness.
Paul Campbell, PTSG’s NVQ Assessor – a trained mental health first aider – said: “We aim to provide the type of open and supportive culture that enables staff to be honest with their manager, to access support and to enjoy a healthy working life.
“Ultimately, I want every single person at PTSG to feel they can approach our trained and qualified mental health first aiders without any judgement from anyone – just care and support. Then, I can be happy we have achieved our goal.”
PTSG’s proactive approach to wellbeing and mental health has been recognised by the judges of the IWFM Impact Awards. The finalists were announced yesterday (21st July) and the ceremony will take place on 17th October at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London.
The IWFM stated that the Awards attracted a great number of entries this year from a diverse range of individuals, projects and organisations. The judges carefully deliberated over the entries and were really encouraged by the number of entries and the high calibre of the work received in the entry submissions, making the finalists even more outstanding.
