Premier Technical Services Group PLC’s (PTSG) Access and Safety division has secured a contract to supply and install a range of fall arrest equipment to the University of Hull.

Skilled engineers will attend the university’s new sports centre – which is currently under construction – to install mansafe systems, ships ladders and internal cat ladders. The team will also visit the school’s new West Campus to install mansafe systems and supply internal ladders.

The University of Hull was founded in 1927 and is currently undergoing significant developments to improve its student facilities. The university’s new sports centre is part of a £16 million upgrade to facilities which will be completed in July 2019. West Campus is a new student village made up of nine blocks, with 478 of the rooms ready for students in September 2018 and the remainder the following year.

Working at height comes with many risks, so these projects require a rigorous approval process to ensure full compliance with both quality standards and the client and contractors’ own working procedures.

PTSG has built up vast experience in the education sector, working on a variety of assets for education providers throughout the UK. Other notable contracts for a variety of niche specialist services include high level cleaning at Oxford University, fall arrest remedial works at the University of St Andrews and lightning protection for the University of Warwick.
