Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist fire solution at a new mixed-tenure residential development in Cheshire.
The Wharton Road development is being constructed by property developer Breck in the Winsford area of the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Cheshire. 205 affordable homes are being created at a stalled brownfield site on behalf of Jigsaw Homes.
The development, which has received funding from Homes England, will include a mix of 1-4 bedroom houses and apartments. The first units are expected to be handed over to residents in early 2025 and the site is expected to be complete by the end of 2026.
In this contract, engineers from PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd will install dry risers at the new development as an important safety measure in the event of a fire. Dry risers are vertical water mains fitted into staircase enclosures or similar, with outlet valves on each floor to enable the fire brigade to connect to the water supply at ground level. They consist of a vertical pipe with an inlet at ground level on an outside face of the building and outlets (known as landing valves) fitted in cabinets at each floor level, allowing fire and rescue service personnel to pressurise the main from their appliances.
Dry (and wet) risers are one of a wide range of specialist fire solutions provided by PTSG to ensure buildings and occupants in all sectors remain as safe and secure as possible at all times.
