Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has completed a specialist electrical services project for Tate & Lyle Sugars, a sugar producer in East London.
Henry Tate founded the Thames Refinery in London’s East End in 1878. The company specialises in cube sugar production. In 2010 the company became part of American Sugar Refining (ASR) Group. ASR is a global group of sugar companies with brands and operations in many countries.
The European businesses have approximately 1,300 direct and contract employees, inclusive of shares in joint ventures. Sugar is manufactured at the company’s three refineries and associated manufacturing sites. The cane sugar supply chain which supplies them stretches across the world. The business focuses principally on bringing speciality sugars and functional ingredients made from sugar cane to the EU marketplace.
In this contract, engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd delivered a test and inspection of the lightning protection system in place at the sugar producer’s site in East London. The client praised PTSG’s professionalism and willingness to explain the reasonings behind the results of the test.
