Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist electrical services at Royal Navy’s Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth. The dockyard is currently undergoing a significant expansion.
A major upgrade of facilities valued at £750m is underway at the dockyard in Plymouth. This is to support the UK submarine fleet for decades to come. The contract for the delivery of infrastructure to support submarine maintenance includes a dock, logistics and modern support facilities.
Crucial to the UK submarine programme, the electrical services contract in Plymouth forms part of the site-wide infrastructure upgrade programme at Devonport to enable the ongoing delivery of base maintenance periods and deep maintenance projects for current and future classes of submarine, including nuclear defuel.
In this contract, engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will deliver lightning protection and earthing works at multiple areas at the dockyard facility. These works will be crucial in keeping structures and people safe in the event of an electrical storm.
