Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is in the latter stages of a project in which its specialists are strengthening the chimney of a textile manufacturer in West Yorkshire.T
he building started life as a spinning mill, built around the start of the 20th century to make woollen yarn. The company is now a third-generation textile manufacturer, still run and operated by the family who want to maintain the rich history, stories and character of the mill.
Experts from PTSG Building Access Specialists Ltd initially conducted an inspection of the chimney, which found spalled stonework across the full façade of the chimney barrel. A price to return to site to remove the spalled stonework form the chimney façade was submitted, which the client approved.
Whilst removing the spalled stonework, multiple cracks were found in the chimney barrel which needed further works to restrengthen the structure of the chimney. These works are currently being completed.
PTSG is the market leader in the high-level maintenance industry, servicing clients worldwide and carrying out work to various building elements such as chimney stacks, cooling towers, flare stacks and other high and unconventional structures.
