Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist electrical services for Airbus, one of the pioneering names in space travel.
As the largest space company in the UK, Airbus Defence and Space develops and manufactures space technology. These they do mainly at its key sites in Stevenage and Portsmouth. The company works closely with academic institutions and companies on research and development. Not to mention various UK suppliers.
Academic institutions play an important role in driving and validating innovations – especially in the space sector. This also makes them essential partners for Airbus. In the UK, Airbus is funding various PhDs and research projects across the countries.
In this contract, engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will perform a test and inspection of the lightning protection system in place at one of the two UK sites for Airbus. Annual testing and inspection of lightning protection systems is required by law. This is to ensure they are fit for purpose to protect structures and their users. PTSG is leading provider of lightning and surge protection systems.
