Onwards and upwards with PTSG

Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist fire solutions for Onward Homes – a housing association in North-West England.

Onward (formerly Symphony Housing Group), based in Liverpool, manages 35,000 properties. It also has a base in Manchester’s Christie Fields. The association was formed as a merger in 2018 of five smaller associations – Contour Homes, Liverpool Housing Trust, Ribble Valley Homes, Hyndburn Homes and Peak

Valley Housing Association. At that time it had about 800 staff and had plans to build more than 1,600 new homes over the next five years.

It got an A1 credit rating with a ‘stable’ outlook from ratings agency Moody’s Investors Service in February 2021, and an award for Best Application of Tech in the Public Sector in December 2020. It conducted a rapid automated telephone survey of its tenants to identify the most vulnerable. 91% confirmed they were OK and 1,698 asked for assistance.

In this contract, engineers from PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd will provide specialist passive fire services including compartmentation surveys, fire door repairs and replacements. The finish date is February 2028. PTSG is one of the UK’s leading providers of fire door services; fire doors are an essential component of fire safety in buildings. Their importance has been underlined by the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, which came into effect on 23rd January 2023 under Article 24 of the Fire Safety Order 2005.
