Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist electrical services for United Utilities Group PLC (UU), the UK’s largest listed water company.
The merger of North-West Water and NORWEB in 1995 founded United Utilities Group plc (UU). The group manages the regulated water and wastewater network in North West England, which includes Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, most of Cheshire and a small area of Derbyshire, which have a combined population of more than seven million.
The United Utilities Group operated the electricity distribution network for the North-West until 2010, when it sold its electricity subsidiary to Electricity Northwest. In this contract, engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will provide a full test and inspection of lightning protection systems at OSEC sites for UU. This ensures compliance with regulations as well as safeguarding buildings and all users in the event of an electrical storm.
