Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has completed a specialist electrical services project at HMP Nottingham, receiving strong praise from the principal contractor.

The Category B men’s prison is located in the Sherwood area of Nottingham. Its history stretches back to 1890, when it was built as a city gaol. The prison provides education, workshop places and domestic duties to occupy inmates. Community projects at the prison include regular visits by local children with special needs.

Resettlement services at Nottingham offer advice on housing and debt management, as well as assistance with employment. There is also a Listeners Scheme for those prisoners who are considered to be at risk from suicide or self-harm.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd completed a series of remedial works to the lightning protection system in place at HMP Nottingham. This ensures it continues to meet the requirements of BS EN 62305, keeping both building and users safe in the event of a lightning strike.

The main contractor praised both the workmanship and the swift delivery of the documentation, including certificate and invoice. PTSG Clarity, the Group’s unique software system, has automated the Group’s administrative function. Not only does this keep office workers and clients in step with site engineers every step of the way, it also produces documentation instantly on completion of every project.
