The electrical services we deliver to our clients are crucial to the safe and efficient running of their buildings.
During our 13-year history we have acquired some of the UK’s most experienced and accomplished providers of lightning protection – and related services. In doing so, PTSG has become the nation’s leader.
One of our constituent companies, JW Gray, based in Essex, is believed to be the oldest trading company providing lightning protection services within the UK and possibly even Europe. We now work from 29 UK centres of operation Group-wide.
Lightning strikes the ground over 300,000 times a year in the UK alone. Without proper protection, buildings are at risk from structural damage. More importantly, their users are at risk of injury. A regulations-compliant lightning conductor system provides the vital protection needed.
PTSG Electrical Services Ltd. is the UK market leader and member of the Association of Technical Lightning & Access Specialists (ATLAS). Depending on your needs, our expert design team can provide either a standard or bespoke solution. We can also offer layout drawings to meet architect, consultant and contract engineer specifications. All new installations are undertaken by our experienced and thoroughly trained engineers based across the UK. We also provide additional services when ‘rope access’ equipment is required.
Once a lightning protection system is installed, it must be professionally tested at least once a year to ensure it is capable of conducting a potential lightning strike to a safe earthing point. This ensures compliance with the Electricity at Work Act 1989, BS6651 and BS EN 62305.
PTSG Electrical Services Ltd. is the UK market leader and member of the Association of Technical Lightning & Access Specialists (ATLAS). Our team of expert engineers are qualified to NVQ Level 2/3 and undertake detailed testing and inspection of completed installations. This includes verifying the installation is in accordance with the correct specification and compliant with all current legislation.
Today, we are seeing dramatic increases in the use of electronic equipment, controls and processes in most, if not all industrial and domestic developments which are under constant stress and as such degradation from transient overvoltages – or surges. PTSG’s dedicated teams are able to provide technical support in the design and installation of the Surge Protection Measures in order to reliably, safely and substantially reduce the risk of loss of life, damage and permanent failure of electrical/electronic equipment.
The design and effective performance of an earthing solution can have a major impact on potential safety, security of electricity supplies, power quality and construction costs. PTSG is extensively experienced and qualified in delivering cost effective, high performance and safe earthing solutions. Our earthing expertise and solutions have been delivered to many applications including renewables, HV/LV and generator earthing and telecommunication earthing systems to latest standards.
