Through the successful delivery of a number of challenging, high-risk projects, Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has built a reputation for its uncompromising commitment to health and safety. This month, we would like to offer an insight into the important role planning plays in ensuring our teams’ safety.
Every workplace has its risks, but the specialist niche services carried out by PTSG’s engineers present their own dangers. Working at height, working with electrical equipment and on large construction sites are particular risks that PTSG’s teams are able to mitigate through comprehensive planning.
First and foremost, PTSG assesses the risks of any job. A plan is then drawn up which keeps exposure to danger to a minimum. Residual risks are controlled by employing appropriately skilled and trained personnel; only when a job has been thoroughly planned and approved by our divisional management teams will work commence.
These steps are enforced across the Group to ensure that these specific risks are greatly reduced, making sure everyone stays safe on site:
- Read, understand and sign onto the supplied risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Where applicable, consult with the Site Manager prior to any work
- Consult the site RAMS and follow the procedures within
- Observe the working area
- If you have any doubts about work, stop and report your concerns to your Operations Manager.
