Issue one hundred and nine

Welcome to Inside PTSG.

It has been reported that a study commissioned by the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) shows that there is a growing awareness within the building services sector of the Building Safety Act 2022 and its consequences.

Compliance and legal understanding of the law, which was enforced in 2022, are proving to be the biggest challenges for businesses that informed researchers they need more training and a closer working relationship with the office of the Building Safety Regulator to fully absorb the changes required to raise building safety.

Compliance is one of PTSG’s main areas of specialism. We work closely with our clients to ensure they understand their responsibilities as building owners and managers, advising them of the specialist systems and services that would achieve the optimal level of protection for their buildings and users – and from a legal compliance perspective.

This month’s Project looks at the recent work of our engineers from PTSG Water Treatment Ltd. Their work rectified water pressure and temperature issues at a modern secondary school. The project was brought in on time and to budget – something we aim for in all our work.

Insight describes the work of our Electrical Services engineers in ensuring our clients not only remain compliant with the law regarding their fixed wiring and portable appliances, but have current, accurate, consolidated and documented records with a version history.

We also present a brief cross-section of our most recent projects from all five business divisions.

I wish you all the best and look forward to keeping you informed of further updates from throughout the Group.

Best wishes

Paul Teasdale
