Welcome to Inside PTSG.

Fire Door Safety Week took place during the final week of September. We at PTSG are fully supportive of this annual initiative, which aims to raise the awareness of the critical importance of fire doors and the role they play in saving lives and protecting property.

In communal buildings of all kinds, the installation of fire doors (as well as their routine maintenance) should be part of the overall fire safety strategy of building owners and managers. PTSG is extremely active in this area and since the new Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 came into effect on 23^rd January 2023, we have been offering expert help and advice to ensure dutyholders are clear about their compliance responsibilities. This month’s Project focuses on the work of our steeplejacks (part of PTSG Building Access Specialists Ltd) who safely dismantled a chimney at a linoleum factory in Fife, Scotland. Our structural engineers shore up many such buildings each year, with dangerous defects often becoming apparent during a routine inspection.
