2024 has been a year in which Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) extended its geographical reach into Europe, with the acquisition of Flame Control in the Netherlands.

On 1st March 2024, the Group announced the acquisition of the large fire solutions firm, based in the municipality of Harderwijk and operating across the country. Flame Control specialises in fire alarm systems, first aid, evacuation, extinguishing systems and extinguishing agents. The company has a team of 40 specialists that work extensively across the Netherlands. Their specialists work seven days a week to improve fire safety in businesses and residential properties.

At the start of October, PTSG announced its second acquisition of the year – one of Scotland’s leading electrical testing companies – White Testing (UK) Ltd (Whites). Whites’ core service offering includes portable appliance testing (PAT), fixed wire testing and emergency light testing. The acquisition is being incorporated into Guardian Electrical Compliance, another PTSG company.

PTSG’s strategic acquisitions (which now total 35 since the Group began trading in 2007), coupled with organic growth, have helped secure the Group’s position as the UK’s leading provider of specialist services for the built environment.

Also key to its continued success has been the reinforcing of its leadership team. Since April 2023, PTSG has made key appointments in the roles of Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Legal Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Group HSE Director.

Its overall staff body has grown to circa 3,000, with engineers from its five business divisions able to attend sites across the UK and Europe at a moment’s notice, including emergencies which may be repair dangerous structural damage or clean graffiti which has the potential to cause reputational damage to organisations.

Staff development is one of PTSG’s main priorities. While this includes the latest technical training, it has also seen the Group working with MHFA England to produce over 40 fully qualified Mental Health First Aiders to provide confidential help and advice across the Group, whenever it is needed.

Looking ahead to 2025, PTSG is expected to increase its output across all five divisions: Access & Safety, Electrical Services, Building Access Specialists, Fire Solutions and Water Treatment. Many services already have sustainable outcomes, with projects delivered in the field of electric vehicle supply equipment and remote temperature monitoring, for example. The Group looks to build on its ESG credentials, with more electric vehicles within its fleet, more sustainable power solutions within its offices and more recycling on site – all of which will serve to lower its carbon footprint with an eventual target of net zero.
