Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) secured a contract to provide specialist electrical services for British Telecom.
BT Group plc is a British multinational telecommunications holding company headquartered in London, with operations in around 180 countries. It is the largest provider of fixed-line, broadband and mobile services in the UK, and also provides subscription television and IT services.
British Telecom runs the telephone exchanges, trunk network and local loop connections for the vast majority of British fixed-line telephones. Currently BT is responsible for approximately 28 million telephone lines in GB. Apart from KCOM Group, which serves Kingston upon Hull, BT is the only UK telecoms operator to have a Universal service Obligation (USO), which means it must provide a fixed telephone line to any address in the UK. It also has the obligation to provide public call boxes.
In this contract, engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will deliver repairs to lightning protection systems in place at BT’s sites throughout the UK.
