Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), via constituent company NSS, has completed a project in which its operatives delivered specialist building services at Birmingham Dental Hospital.

Based in Edgbaston, the dental hospital is part of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and home to the University of Birmingham’s School of Dentistry.

Service provision, education and research form key components, with consultant-led dental specialties providing treatment for around 115,000 attendances each year, together with undergraduate and postgraduate training for dental students, dental nurses, dental hygienists and therapists.

Between the NHS and the school there is concentrated clinical expertise covering all dental specialities. These unique features, such as the Primary Treatment Unit and other speciality services, makes the Dental Hospital an important resource to the General Dental Practitioners and the population of this region. Work to build the first integrated, stand-alone dental hospital and dental school in the UK for almost 40 years began onsite in September 2013.

In this contract, specialists from NSS (part of PTSG Building Access Specialists Ltd) delivered a series of minor roofing repairs at the dental hospital. PTSG’s teams use a range of access methods to maintain and repair high and hard-to-reach areas, without the downtime or obstruction caused by other costlier methods, such as scaffolding.

They are highly skilled in working on a wide range of buildings, and provide the same high standard of service whether carrying out a small repair to a modern building, or a large restoration of a heritage property.
