Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist electrical services for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Informally known as the LDS Church, or Mormon Church, it is the largest latter-day saint denomination. The church was founded by Joseph Smith in western New York in 1830 as the Church of Christ. In 2023, there were said to be over 17.2 million members of whom 6.8 million live in the US.
In 2019, the United Kingdom had the second-highest number of LDS Church members per capita among countries in Europe, behind Portugal. In the UK there are 275 wards, 42 branches and 317 congregations.
In this contract, engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will deliver testing and inspection to the lightning protection systems in place at around 200 LDS Church sites throughout the UK and Ireland.
