Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist electrical services at an abandoned Christian holiday camp, which is being turned into a £21m retirement village in Kent.
The McGoff Group is the main contractor on the project, which will be constructing the 67-bed care facility and 49 bungalows. The new development will stand on the site of the sprawling and once-thriving Herne Bay Court complex, complete with a striking mansion.
The bungalows, aimed at the over 55s, will be sold to private buyers and will be overseen by Downtown Asset Management, the Group’s property management arm of the business. The care home will be the first in the South for award-winning New Care, also part of the McGoff Group, and will provide outstanding residential, dementia and 24hr nursing care in a luxurious environment.
The build programme will take approximately two years, with several hundred employed over the course of construction. Approximately 100 jobs will also be created by the care home once open and fully operational.
In this contract, engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will install a brand-new lightning protection system to protect the development and all its users in the event of an electrical storm.
PTSG is the UK’s leading provider of lightning protection services. Essex-based JW Gray, which is a constituent company of PTSG, began trading in 1835, which means PTSG is believed to be the oldest trading provider of lightning protection services in the UK and possibly even in Europe.
