Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist Access & Safety services at Tate Stores.

Tate Stores allow people to buy everything from artists’ prints to books, gifts and fashion, as well as book a place at exhibitions at the different galleries and museums in the Tate group: Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives. Housed in a converted warehouse within the Albert Dock on

Liverpool’s waterfront, Tate Liverpool was opened on 24 May 1988 by Prince Charles. The gallery is currently closed while renovation work takes place. Tate St Ives is an art gallery in St Ives, Cornwall, exhibiting work by modern British artists with links to the St Ives area. The Tate also took over management of another museum in the town, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, in 1980.

In this contract, engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd will undertake remedial work to Mansafe systems and handrail installations on site. Such fall protection systems are subject to year-round weathering; that is why testing and inspection is carried out at suitable intervals. Any imperfections that have developed can then be dealt with and the system can be certified as safe.

PTSG’s team are trained to inspect systems to the exacting standards that they must comply with and check that they are installed and/or maintained according to the manufacturer’s guidelines. Regular inspection and testing allows a database of clients’ equipment to be created and updated, showing a record of installation, inspection, maintenance and certification.
