Welcome to Inside PTSG.
It was reported in the trade press this month that a group of housing associations has written to the government stating that social tenants must be able to request maintenance data. Furthermore, most (75%) fire doors do not meet required standards, with 31% of doors having been installed incorrectly in the first place, meaning that they were never able to offer adequate protection (figures from CE Safety).
This is a worrying trend and something that we at PTSG are actively combatting through our specialist fire door service, which comprises installation, surveys and maintenance. Our engineers carry out a lot of their work for social housing providers, ensuring that the more vulnerable members of society are kept safe. Fire doors are one aspect of a suite of passive fire services delivered within PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd.
In this month’s issue of Inside PTSG, there’s a closer look at a recent project in which we supplied hire access equipment and specialist operatives. This area of PTSG Building Access Specialists Ltd has been very busy this year, supplying equipment to help with the coverage of a number of high-profile events.
Insight describes some of the sustainability initiatives and measures in place at Trinity, one of the largest component companies of PTSG. They include the removal of all plastic packaging from its logistics operations, a cycle to work scheme, a switch to bamboo products instead of paper – and the achievement of net zero at two client sites.
Extraordinary Buildings describes a recent project in which our lightning protection engineers worked at the beautiful Kew Gardens. There’s also a brief cross-section of some of our recent projects across all five divisions.
I wish you all the best and look forward to keeping you informed of further updates from throughout the Group.
Best wishes
