Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to provide passive fire services, specifically, remedial fire doors services at one of the leading universities in Leicester and the UK as a whole.
The university is known for the invention of genetic fingerprinting. The institution also partially fund the discovery and the DNA identification of the remains of King Richard III in Leicester. The site for the university was donated by a local businessman, Thomas Fielding Johnson. This is done to create a living memorial for all local people who made sacrifices during the First World War. This is reflected in the University’s motto ‘Ut vitam habeant’ – ‘so that they may have life’.
Students were first admitted to the college in 1921, sitting examinations for external degrees awarded of the University of London.
In this contract, engineers from PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd have started work in one of the university’s accommodation blocks, providing remedial works to fire doors to the university in Leicester. The work is being carried out under a Multi-Contractor Framework Agreement.
