Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist electrical services at Legoland in Windsor.
Legoland is a theme park and resort in Windsor, Berkshire, themed around the Lego brand. Merlin Entertainments currently operates the park, which opened on 17 March 1996. The park’s attractions consist of a mixture of Lego-themed rides, models, and building workshops targeted at children between three and twelve.
The theme park plans to open a thrilling new ride this year, promising it to be its fastest one yet. Minifigure Speedway is a duelling rollercoaster which will see “Team Legends” and “Team Allstars” cars race forwards and in reverse against one another to determine who is the winner.
The ride, inspired by Speedway circuits, reaches speeds of 56 km/h. It features state-of-the-art technology and a dynamic dual-track layout, which cost £10m to develop. Zierer is currently manufacturing the attraction, which is under construction.
Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will install a brand-new lightning protection system which will protect the new attraction and its users in the event of an electrical storm.
PTSG is the UK’s leading provider of lightning and surge protection systems. Its engineers design, install and commission new systems for clients in all sectors. They also carry out mandatory testing and inspection of systems. They do this at least every year to ensure they remain safe and fully operational. PTSG’s engineers are highly experienced and qualified to conduct any maintenance work that may be required.
