World Entrepreneurs’ Day is held annually on the 21st of August each year to acknowledge and celebrate those courageous enough to blaze their own trail. Its purpose is to create awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership throughout the world.

World Entrepreneurs’ Day traces its roots back to 2010 when it was first established by the United Nations. August 21st was chosen as the official day to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of entrepreneurs globally. This date signifies the birth anniversary of Bernard “Bernie” Cornfeld, a renowned entrepreneur who revolutionised the mutual fund industry in the mid-20th century. His legacy embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship and risk-taking that World Entrepreneurs Day aims to promote.

Entrepreneurship plays a pivotal role in transforming local communities and economies. Small businesses create job opportunities, driving economic growth and reducing unemployment rates. Moreover, social enterprises focus on sustainable practices, promoting environmental conservation and social welfare.

Paul Teasdale, Executive Chairman of Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) and one of the founders of the company, has proven himself to be an award-winning entrepreneur. He took the company from a standing start in 2007 to leading on its joint acquisition for more than £600m in 2021 – having floated PTSG on the London Stock Exchange in 2015, divesting in 2018. His accomplishments have been celebrated numerous times, including by the Business Desk (PTSG received the Fast Growth Business award in 2020) and by the Insider Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2019.
