Welcome
Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Inside PTSG. I hope you and your families are continuing to stay well.
At PTSG all our site teams continue to observe the latest guidelines for social distancing and sanitation. Some of the sites we work at have exact measures, such as keeping work teams separate from one another at all times. We are happy to follow all measures that help to minimise any further incidence of COVID-19.
In November, Business Secretary Alok Sharma issued a message of thanks to “everyone working in the construction sector” whom he said is “making a hugely valued and critical contribution to our country.”
This was a very welcome message. While it is absolutely right that Britain’s key workers continue to be singled out for their vital role during the pandemic, construction is also an essential to the fabric of our country and to our economy.
PTSG works hand in hand with the construction sector, as the facilities management sector exists to ensure buildings and users are protected and run as efficiently as possible.
Mr Sharma mentioned the building of the Nightingale Hospitals; PTSG has delivered multiple specialist services for this initiative. In NHS Nightingale Exeter, our Fire Solutions specialists installed fire and security systems, while at NHS Nightingale Bristol, our Electrical Services engineers were contracted to install lightning protection and earthing upgrade works.
This issue of Inside PTSG contains a case study on two projects recently completed by our steeplejack specialists – one at a cement plant in Ireland and another at Drax Power Station in Yorkshire.
I wish you all the best and look forward to keeping you informed of further updates from the business.
Best wishes
Paul Teasdale
