Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has completed specialist structural repairs to a church in Scotland.

Its steeplejack and rope access specialists, based in Edinburgh, were initially conducting a routine inspection of the church spire. This showed that some of the stonework was loose, posing an immediate risk to users of the church and passers-by.

PTSG’s engineers erected specialist cantilever scaffolds around the problem areas to contain the dangerous masonry and carry out the remedial repairs to make safe the stonework. The church is now fully operational following the structural repairs and is very grateful to PTSG’s structural engineering work – and for commissioning the routine inspection that indicated the danger issues that could have caused major problems.

PTSG has completed work at a huge range of sites, from historic buildings up to 1,400 years old, to high-tech industrial buildings, councils, hospitals and private sector properties. Its teams employ innovation to gain access to all areas of the buildings they work on, which can generally continue operating as usual while the PTSG’s undertake their vital work. This minimises downtime and maximises profitability.
