PTSG has an active CSR programme in which people from across its UK staff body of 2,500+ get involved in a wide variety of charitable events throughout the year.
The Three Peaks Challenge attracts thousands of people each year. In the National Three Peaks Challenge, participants attempt to conquer the tallest points in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Mount Snowden). There’s also the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, in which participants tackle Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent.
In June 2023, two teams from PTSG took on the challenge, one undertaking the National Three Peaks, the other conquering the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
Tanya Matthews’ EMCOR team – the National Three Peaks
Tanya Matthews, Business Development Director at PTSG, was shortlisted from EMCOR’s supply chain to take on the National Three Peaks Challenge with them.
Tanya and her team completed the challenge on 8th June, climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in a 24-hour period. She was raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and personally raised over £1,000. The team’s collective aim was to raise £62,483, which is enough to pay for a Macmillan Nurse for one year, helping people living with cancer and their families to receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
Freyja Barnett’s team – the Yorkshire Three Peaks
Freyja works as Specialist Systems Works Administrator for Trinity, part of PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd. With team members Jake Page, Jamie Meadmore and Jordan Gouldbourne, Freyja conquered the Yorkshire Three Peaks (Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent) on Saturday 24th June in memory of her brother. In doing so, she raised over £2,000 for the MANUP charity. Congratulations to the whole team.
