Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to provide specialist electrical services at two residential tower blocks on the outskirts of Birmingham.
Shelley and Browning Towers are two 12-storey residential tower blocks in the Northfield area of Birmingham, currently undergoing a large programme of renovation. They were completed in the 1960s. Both towers are 36 metres tall and contain 70 flats. They were named after the two English Romantic poets of the 19th century.
PTSG has been contracted by the principal contractor to install a lightning protection system for the two towers. Such systems are vital in all tall structures to protect them from damage as a result of an electrical storm; a lightning protection system provides a low-resistance path to ground for the lightning to follow and disperse.
