Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been appointed to install a sprinkler system at a new residential development for the University of Leicester.
Plans for the new Freemen’s Common Student Village, which fronts Welford Road in Leicester, were approved by the City Council’s Planning Committee to create a welcoming new neighbourhood for students to live, study and socialise.
The scheme consists of seven residential student accommodation blocks for around 1,200 students, a 550-space multi-storey car park and other ancillary buildings. Engineers from PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd are due to start on site early in December, with the majority of works starting in the first quarter of 2020. The main contractor is Imtech.
PTSG installs sprinkler systems for both commercial and domestic buildings all over the UK. Sprinklers are one of the most popular and effective ways of combatting fires. To date, no one has died in a fire with a sprinkler installed in the household.
